Protecting Children and Taxpayers from Methane Leaks

In 2017, we launched a campaign to reach Senator Heller of Nevada. He voted against renewing the Bureau of Land Management’s Methane Rule, which requires companies to dispose of fossil fuel byproducts in certain ways during the extraction process. By voting against this measure, Heller supported methane leaks, which could affect the health of children in Nevada. By the end of the campaign, 5,000 people signed a petition outlining their disappointment in the Senator’s vote, 2,000 people called his offices, and 1.8 million people viewed the advertisements that outlined the dangers of  methane leaks.
